Public Consultations

Kapital Foundation is undertaking a public consultation programme to inform the local community and other stakeholders about our aspirations for Hilton.

We value your opinion

In an effort to allow the community to put forward their views, we have to date undertaken the following:

  1. an inaugural meeting with Rosyth Community Council in November 2009 where our ideas were presented.

  2. distribution of a letter to 1200 households in Rosyth (generally those located in Camdean and also those to the West of Queensferry Road), advising residents of the proposals and directing enquiries to the website.

  3. a public exhibition in Rosyth Parish Church hall held on 10th February 2010. A press advert was place in the Dunfermline Press extending an invitation to interested parties (click here for link to advert). This was attended by 175 visitors. Comments Cards were completed by over 50 attendees.

This date was chosen to coincide with the commencement date of the Fife Council draft Dunfermline and West Fife Local Plan public consultation period which runs from 22nd February to 19th April

  4. provided a registration page on the website to allow interested parties to be kept informed with regular email updates.

  5. provided a Feedback Form on the website to allow opinions to be expressed about the proposals.

  6. kept the local news media informed of our intentions. This has included articles in the Dunfermline Press, The Courier, Scotland on Sunday and Kingdom FM.

  7. held numerous meetings with politicians and community stakeholders.

Feedback Forms

Feedback continues to be sought from all interested parties. A selection of comments to date are:

"Prefer option 2 – need more facilities for the young ones in Rosyth as they have none at the moment and just roam about the streets".

"Option 3 with the new school and community use, as good as Dulloch. At the moment it is all waste land. Rosyth needs this – you can see the way Peasehill took off".

"For decades we residents of Camdean Crescent have been informed that the ground you propose to build on was unbuildable due to the condition of the ground itself being too "boggy". Could you tell us exactly how this is going to be remedied and what your intentions are towards the burn?

"The building that you plan to do will it in any way reduce the value of the properties that are privately owned in Camdean Crescent".

"The drainage that is there just now, will it be sufficient to support your new buildings along with the old without causing flooding in the rainy season?"

"I think that you should upgrade or replace Camdean Primary School and if room, build recreational facilities as there doesn’t seem to be enough sports facilities in this area".

"I don’t agree with you taking the primary school’s land in return for upgrading it. Where are the children going to do their cross country running or sports days? It will turn Camdean into an enclosed town school and greatly reduce Rosyth’s green belt".

To date 93% of those completing the Feedback Forms are in favour of the principle of development at Hilton.
